The true standard, the true Afghan... the Ideal one for us

"Ashraf" (also called Dodo) was known for his powerful gait and attitude at shows. He was called "the Flying Afghan", and we are proud to say that's true. He was proud and dignified, the "ideal Afghan" for us, a monument of the perfect dog. He was the only one Echo's Champion son and we have been the only kennel to use this extraordinary dog with his extraordinary pedigree. Echo's pedigree - some of the greatest Afs in the history of the breed were there - and his faboulus movement attracted immediately us to him. In Italy there weren't many dogs with that incomparable side gait and movement...

Ashraf went winning his first Specialty Best In Show at the age of two, handled by our friend Roberto Bongiovanni (see Links). So young to beat two of the most well known Afghans in Europe and in the world as well, but he did! Judge was the Swedish Mr Magnus Hagstedt. Then Dodo also won SBIS at the 1st Italian Technical Club Specialty with 198/200 pointscore. We never had the opportunity to show him abroad and try to get the two foreign Cacib for the International title. Anyhow a dog must be recognized by his quality and not by his Championship titles.

We are especially proud of Dodo's kids who are doing so well in the show rings, even if quite sparingly shown. He sired 6 litters and 5 of his sons are near Champions and Champions and many others are collecting several Cac or are getting the Field/Coursing Champion title. See Our Dogs.
